Basic Kneads provides wood-fired pizza catering throughout the Denver metro area and Colorado’s mountain towns. Our private catering service is built for relaxed, social gatherings where great food and genuine hospitality bring people together. From backyard parties and birthdays to company events and dinner parties, we bring a fresh, interactive dining experience directly to you.

 

Every pizza is handcrafted and fired on-site in our mobile wood ovens, allowing guests to enjoy pizza straight from the flame—hot, crisp, and served throughout the event. We also prepare salads and appetizers on location so everything is served at its best. Our friendly, organized team handles the details, allowing hosts to relax and enjoy their guests.

 

If you are looking for the most inexpesnive caterer, we may not be the best choice. However, whether indoors or outdoors, in the city or the mountains, our goal is simple: exceptional food, warm hospitality, and an experience your guests will remember.

Trying to Decide Between Slice Catering and Private Catering?

Slice Catering might be right for you if:

• Your event is more than 25 miles from Lakewood

• Your event is important enough to secure more than 4 months in advance

• Feeding people is the reason you gathered

  • Dinner Parties, Rehearsal Dinners, Welcome Dinners, Birthday Celebrations​

• You'd like a wider variety of pizzas 

  • Slice Catering has 3 pizza flavors while Private Catering has 5 flavors

• You have a good idea of how many are coming - you asked, they rsvp'd​

 

Private Event Service

​We offer three service tiers to best fit your event needs (starting at $28/person):

 

Tier 1/The Basic includes Margherita, Pepperoni, and three specialty pizzas along with one of our salad options.

Tier 2/The Standard includes everything in Tier 1, plus two simple appetizers served during your cocktail hour.

Tier 3/The Supreme includes everything in Tier 1, plus charcuterie cups (pre-prepared, delicious cups that are easy to eat and filling for guests) during your cocktail hour.

 

Please note that we provide food service catering only, not full-service event staffing. For venues requiring full-service, we’re happy to provide staffing recommendations to bridge that gap, if permitted by your venue.

 

We think you’ll find Basic Kneads delivers exceptional value and a memorable experience. Event minimums range from $1500-$2500. Minimums are based on many factors (how far in advance, day of the week, time of the year, distance we need to travel to serve, occasion, etc). 

 

Additional Charges & Details

Your custom estimate will include food costs, selected upgrades, tax, travel, and a 20% gratuity. Here are a few key considerations:

 

• Tax is applied based on your event location, so we will need the address.

• Mileage is billed at $2.50 per mile round trip from our base at 9255 W Alameda Ave, Lakewood, CO 80226.

• Events more than 60 miles from Lakewood may incur a travel charge of $150–$2000, based on distance and final guest count. This will be reflected in your estimate.

• A signed contract and 50% deposit (based on food costs) are required to secure your date. Please note that all deposits are non-refundable.
